Hi, I’m Toyin.
I’m a CPA who got tired of watching good people make big money decisions based on sales pitches dressed up as advice. So I built something different: honest, advice-only financial guidance for everyday Canadians, with no products, no commissions, and no agenda but yours.
How I got here
I spent years in accounting watching the same thing happen on repeat: smart, hardworking people handed “free” financial advice that quietly served whoever was selling it. The math was rarely in their favour, and most of them never knew.
I started CPA Money Mentor to change that. It began as a YouTube channel, where I break down investing, retirement, and the behaviour-driven money mistakes most of us make, in plain language, backed by real research instead of hype. This practice is where I take that further and work with people one-on-one, across Canada and entirely over video.
I’m a Chartered Professional Accountant and I hold an MBA, and I’m currently pursuing CFP certification. But the credential I care about most is trust. And the only way I know to earn it is to have no incentive to sell you anything.
So that’s the deal here. You get my honest read on your situation, even when it’s not what you were hoping to hear. I’ll never dress it up, and I’ll never make you feel small for where you’re starting from.
What you can count on
Evidence over hype
Every recommendation traces back to real research and your actual numbers, not whatever’s trending this week.
Behaviour matters as much as math
Most money problems aren’t really about the spreadsheet. I pay attention to the why, not just the what.
Plain language, always
If you leave a conversation more confused than when you started, I’ve done my job badly. No jargon, no talking down.
No shame, just clarity
Wherever you’re starting from is fine. My job is to hand you a clear path forward, not to make you feel behind.
Paid for advice. Only advice.
Advice-only means I don’t sell products, earn commissions, or manage your money. You pay me for guidance, the same way you’d pay an accountant or a lawyer, and that’s exactly the point.
